Pitch Season 1, Episode 1 Pilot Review!

Girls Can Do Anything Guys Can and Ginny Baker is Proving Just That.

Pitch is about Ginny Baker,(played by Kylie Bunbury) the first woman to ever play in Major League Baseball. Ginny is selected by a scout to play for the San Diego Padres and already Baker is compared to Jackie Robinson constantly. Not only are  almost all young girls in America looking up to Ginny as a role model, but she must also live up to her father's expectations but Ginny most also try fit in with her new team mates including star catcher Mike Lawson (played by Mark-Paul Gosslear),and Blip Sanders (played by Mo Mcrae). Under pressure, Ginny cracks as almost all the eyes of the world are on her, which makes the Padres managers question whether they picked the right or wrong woman for the job.

WARNING: SPOILER ZONE AHEAD!

I''ll be honest with you guys and tell you that the moment I saw the promos I was anticipating for Pitch to premiere already. The premise already had many others and myself captivated to watch the show. I think the creators of the show really wanted to make Pitch be as authentic as possible and when the Padres where at the game, it felt like watching a real baseball game. I think Bunbury did an amazing job at bringing Ginny's character to life, pitching and non pitching Bunbury's acting was amazing! As for Mark-Paul Gosslear, I think Mike Lawson was a perfect fit for him to play/get in character and I definetely did not recgonize him at first but he completely got into character for this role as he admitted he had to gain weight and grow a beard for this role. As for that "inspirational speech" Lawson gave Baker, he could totally be in the movies, Lawson gave Baker her game back ,and I sense a possible chemistry between the two!

WARNING: A HUGE PLOT TWIST ZONE OF THE SERIES OF PITCH!! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
Ginny has always been a daddy's girl especially since he helped her become the best baseball player she could possibly be, despite having high expectations. Ginny and her father always had a great bond and when Ginny is selected to play for the Padres everything changes. The night when Ginny tells her father in the car she is about to get the recognition for her hardwork and then a car hits her and father. Ginny's father passes away that night, revealing that Ginny was only seeing him and hearing him in his head and to conclude the episode she says "We did it Pop." which was so sad.
Overall, Pitch is amazing and you should totally watch it! I give the show the a  seal of approval and trust me I'm already anticipating the next episode. Who knows maybe a female baseball player watching the show might be the one to make this fantasy a reality as it's...
