Pitch 1x06 'Wear It' Episode Review!

Ginny Baker Might Not Be As Tough As You Think...

This week on Pitch a deal with Nike changes everything and let's just say we saw two very different sides to the usually tough and confident Ginny Baker we thought we know. Did 'Wear It' stand out among the episodes so far? Was 'Wear It' worth the hype?

WARNING: SPOILERS OF PITCH SEASON 1 EPISODE 6, 'WEAR IT, AHEAD! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

The episode begins revealing that Ginny is seeing a therapist keeping in suspense as to what happend to her and in no time this week's flashbacks tell us so.      The flashbacks this week aren't about Ginny's childhood but take us back to 48 hours earlier to when Ginny signs with Nike. Ginny's Nike deal, I got to say, is the real deal with Firsts being the main topic in her campaign. It seems she's fine but as she's browsing through her Nike ads for her campaign Ginny gets a panic attack! I honestly got worried. The first person to be called is Amelia and she rushes from Mike's place to Ginny's and thankfully Ginny's alright after having a chat with Amelia.

Brought back to the therapist, we find out why Ginny has her panic attack: Pressure. With the Nike campaign, she thinks she doesn't belong with all those heroes because she's just a Number 5 starter and isn't the first woman-black woman to pitch professionally (Shouting out Mamie Peanut Johnson!!). Ginny is even doubting herself and thinks she doesn't deserve to be in the MLB!! This angers me so much because Ginny works just as hard as any other ball player (Male or Female) and she does deserve to be in the MLB!

Back to 48 hours, Ginny is struggling on the mound. 2 Bad starts and when Mike goes to see Baker and calm her down, he accidentally lets it slip that he knows about her panic attack from the night before, once again making Ginny mad at Amelia thinking Amelia betrayed her trust.

Oscar, Al, and Charlie are arguing and come to an agreement of letting Baker go to her own party. Speaking of the party, Evelyn and Ginny have quite a moment and Ginny is still mad at Amelia for the secret and letting the Panic Attack news out of the bag. Evelyn's Reaction? Priceless!!

Amelia and Ginny have a standoff and agree that their relationship is strictly negotiating contracts and borrow pretty dresses.

At the party, Mike arrives and things cannot be more awkward for the two and Ginny roasts him and is it bad I thought it was a good burn?

Blip and Evelyn congratulate Ginny and she is so awkward at the party, not knowing what to do. May I just say Blip's reaction to Ginny being mad at Amelia and Mike is just as perfect as Evelyn's?

Mike can't take Ginny being mad at him and Amelia and calls it a quits with Amelia. May I just say why would they tell Ginny now and then break up? Blip  praises Mike's choice for dating Amelia and accidentally replants a seed that he is still in love with his Ex- Wife Rachel!

Ginny takes at least a million selfies and can't take it anymore. Ginny meets a waitress named Cara and Cara plants an idea of Ginny leaving her own party. Ginny asks if she has a car and decides to leave.

Back to present day, we find out Ginny never went to college. Ginny got drafted by the Padres in her freshman year and chose not to go with a scholarship.

At the 48 hours, Ginny decides to have a night as a normal 23 year old with Cara.

Amelia is frantic trying to find Ginny at her own party and Mike is purely isn't over Amelia.

Ginny makes it to a party Cara's hosting and everyone decides to treat her like a normal 23 year old.

In other news, Elliot decides to ask out another assistant and can't take her out. Amelia can't find Ginny and recruits Elliot canceling his supposed date.

Ginny at Cara's party is engaging in Dancing, Mario Kart battles, Beer Pong, but that's not the worst part of it.

Ginny in her dress is going to dunk a basketball in a hoop over a pool in her red $10,000 loaned dress. The only real problem with this? She's wearing New Balance sneakers. She excels at the task and her dunk is already viral all over the internet.

Meanwhile with all the craziness, Amelia and Elliot are hunting down Ginny while Elliot wants to talk about his job.

On the other side, Mike, clearly intoxicated stops by Rachel's house while her fiance and her are having a house party. At the party, Mike behaves maturely with everyone.

In present day, Ginny reveals that she put the New Balance sneakers because they wanted her to wear their glove and that her glove was the last thing her dad gave her.

Elliot and Amelia find the place where Ginny did her dunk and Amelia cannot clearly be more mad. Elliot finally takes a stand for his job and stands up to Amelia about how much he does and gets a raise and a new job title: Director of Social media. I absolutely loved Elliot in this scene. Tim's potrayal certainly portrays Elliot's true pain of his job.

Charlie, Oscar, and Al hear the news and once again are arguing about Ginny and finally have a consensus to call someone.

Ginny, Cara, and Cara's friend are clearly intoxicated and their night gets even more crazy as they decide to go to the beach at hours beyond time.

Mike, still at Rachel's, professes his love for her and Rachel delivers a line so important saying "You want me because you can't have me." Interesting line that I believe is true. Rachel then gives Mike a great piece of advice and it could help him with Amelia and Ginny. The two then have a great moment of consensus but is then ruined when the two are just about to make out but stop.

Ginny is saved by Cara as she drove her to the stadium just in time for her day to begin. Ironically, Amelia and Elliot see Ginny in the parking and reveal the video is everywhere and people love it except she wore New Balance sneakers. Amelia gives a solution to the problem and Ginny and her share a moment, despite all of the Lawson drama!!

Ginny is then talking to Oscar, Al, and Charlie apologizing for what she did. The team then reveal another video was filmed by Cara. In the video Ginnys says "I can't believe I have to go back. I don't want to go back." Baker then sobs in the bathtub with Cara and then says this line "I don't want to do it anymore, I don't want to take secret exits, I don't want to give careful quotes, I don't want to smile when I don't want to smile." What a scene and  Bunbury's acting is amazing. I'll admit what a tear jerker. The 3 Managers reveal they called the therapist and Al insists Ginny's not fine which she denies but then tearfully admits to.

I love that the team doesn't just see Ginny as cents and dollars, but as a person that needed help and support and I'm glad their trying to help her, that was just heartwarming and even more of a reason this heartwarming.

Back to present day, Ginny reveals she liked being around those girls because they had a "Interesting Lifestyle" and she shockingly said

I was purely in shock. The real reason Ginny acted was to destroy her image by putting on the wrong sneakers with everyone watching. In her apartment Amelia shockingly reveals that Trevor's photos are being leaked leaving us cliffhanger and Ginny saying "What else you got?"

'Wear It' was an absolutely spectacular episode since the Pilot, Beanball, and Alfonso Guzman Chavez. It had incredible acting with Kylie Bunbury's acting at her best, A Balance of emotion and drama, although I wanted more baseball but I think this week will make up for it. 'Wear it' gets a 9.8/10
